Silicone Grease

Silicone grease is a lubricating grease based on silicone oil. People use it on O-rings, rubber seals, and some plastic parts because it does not swell rubber the way a petroleum grease can. It is still a lubricant.

The post here is about O-ring silicone grease. It explains the job of the grease on a seal. It does not say the grease belongs in a fryer, a food-fat spec, or a grease trap. A kitchen should not treat a tube of silicone grease as a cooking oil.

The article is here so the name stays with lubricants and away from yellow grease and used cooking oil.
