Grease Trap Cleaning and Repair
GREASE.ORG pumps, cleans, and repairs grease traps and in-kitchen interceptors.
Schedule Grease Services1-844-GREASE-1

Cleaning
A cleaning visit pumps the waste out of the trap, scrapes the interior walls, washes the box out, and checks the inlet and outlet pipes.

The cleaning robot works inside the trap.

Repair
When the trap or the pipes on either side fail, the same visit covers repair.
Trap sizes
A small interceptor under the sink may hold about five gallons. A large in-ground trap may hold several thousand gallons and use more than one baffle. Both are traps. They are pumped on different schedules because they fill at different rates.
Interceptor types
These pages describe the equipment a kitchen may have. Cleaning, pumping, and repair are the same work on each of them.
- Commercial Grease Interceptor Services. How a visit works on a small box and on a large tank.
- Gravity Interceptor Sizing. Large in-ground tanks that separate grease by letting wastewater sit.
- Hydro-Mechanical Installations. Smaller boxes under a sink or in the floor. They fill faster.
- Automated Grease Removal Devices. A timer skims floating grease. The box still needs a cleaning visit.
- Municipal FOG Compliance Inspections. What a city inspector looks for. GREASE.ORG does the pumping and repair. The city keeps the form.
- Commercial Kitchen Plumbing Engineering. Why the inlet and outlet on the kitchen line have to stay clear. Sizing and stamped drawings stay with a plumber.
